About Us...
Located in the picturesque countryside of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Mini-Monsters strives to produce typey and correct AMHA/AMHR Miniature horses. Some of the prominent bloodlines that we contain in our small, select herd are Orion, Buckeroo and Bonds with an intent focus moving towards AMHA/AMHR 34" and under horses of Rowdy lineage.
The small beginnings of Mini-Monsters came about in 2003 when my dad decided to enter the world of the Friesian Horse. As he expanded he decided that we needed a “teaser” stud to help bring the mares in heat. That was the only push I needed. Less than a year later I purchased two unregistered miniature mares in hopes of breeding them to our teaser, Dakota. In June of the next year I volunteered to be a “ribbon” girl at the annual Cloverdale show for the BC Miniature Horse Club. I was hooked and began my search for “A” (meaning one) registered show mare. In my searches I was always drawn back to the same mare, Silver Birches Lady Crown Jewel. I dropped a line to Sandy at Silver Birch and a deal was struck!!!! I sold all my unregistered stock and have begun the constant improving of my small AMHA/AMHR herd. In 2009 we had our two babies and were hooked, now we look forward to a select number of carefully planned foals yearly. It would seem that every year is an exciting year for us and changes are always in the works.
Our senior herd sire, Cross Country Private Terms, is the cornerstone of our program. Ever since purchasing our first horses we have been constantly improving the quality of our stock! When the chance to buy Private, a well-known Lazy N Redboy son, came up I did not hesitate! We are planning to retain as many of his beautiful fillies as possible. We hope to eventually cross him to Expo for added refinement, hooky ears and a high neck set. Be sure to check back often for our exciting news!
